About

Hi. I’m Tim… the guy who started this whole thing. I’m not really into the formal “about” pages that you see on some sites, so here goes. We love to capture unique images that make a connection with people. Let’s face it, anyone can take a decent picture nowadays… especially with the advances in digital photography, but taking a great picture that captures the essence of someone (or something) is another thing altogether. The taking that great picture and processing it into something unique and one-of-a-kind is what we do.  We have a passion for this stuff and we think it shows… at least that’s what we hear over and over again from you, our friends and customers! We are pretty low-key and informal and we’re guessing you’ll probably fit in like family around us.
If you have any questions or would just like to talk to a “real” person to get to know us a little better, just give us a buzz and we’d be happy to talk to you (email works too). We love a challenge, so if you don’t see what you’re looking for, there’s a chance we’ve already done it or would be willing to.
Thanks for checking out our blog… please poke around to see what’s going on. Look fast, because our blog changes even faster than our regular site at www.timokeefephoto.com!!!
God Bless and we’ll talk soon… Tim

Now, if you came from our main site, this is probably the extra info your want to know… have fun!
I haveenjoyed photography since I was a kid and always seemed to be able to capture things in a unique way, but I didn’t pursue a degree in photography. Instead, I chose to go to Case Western Reserve University and major in Mechanical Engineering (with a minor in Economics). Since graduating from CWRU, I’ve worked at a company called Swagelok. There I had many different positions in my 12 years which kept the enthusiasm high and the boredom low. I was fortunate to work as a product support engineer, design engineer, manufacturing engineer, product evaluation engineer, marketing product specialist, technical service engineer, quality control supervisor and lastly as a quality engineer. Overall, my experience there was great and I was able to make significant contributions to the company (and have built an awesome resume too!). My interest in technology and photography collided when we purchased our first digital camera years ago, which ultimately led me into a new career. If you’re wondering, the answer is “YES”… I have left Corporate America and now work full-time as president, head photographer, web designer, image editor, snow shoveler and general “do-whatever-needs-to-be-done” guy at Tim O’Keefe Photography. While there are certain aspects of my previous engineering career that I miss (like always having a pot of fresh coffee ready in the lunchroom), I have never regretted making the career change.
I live in Mentor, Ohio with my wife of 13 years and business partner, Stacey. We’ve been blessed with 3 wonderful gifts… M1, M2 and M3, as we like to call them. Mikaila (M1) is our oldest at 11 and loves soccer. She has natural speed, great passing skills, amazing endurance and mentally understands the game and positioning on the soccer field- watch out Mia Hamm! Maggie (M2) is our middle daughter at age 9 and loves to swim. Her favorite strokes are the fly and free (butterfly and freestyle for you non-swimming folks). She is naturally gifted in the water, but also trains hard at each practice. It is a joy to watch her swim so fast with such apparent ease. Her times keep dropping throughout the season and we’re excited to see where she will end up. Our last little sweetie is M3. Marissa is her name and she is pushing 3. She is talking up a storm and loves to play with her two big sisters. She has the most amazing smile and innocence about her and it is a great joy to be her dad. Stacey and I have moved past the anxiety many new parents deal with and have kind of “mellowed-out” as parents, so it’s seems a little easier to just relax and enjoy our little one!
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little more about our us and remember, when your image matters, go to the TOP… Tim O’Keefe Photography!
